Material Information
The official material designation is 2205 Duplex Stainless Steel. Some marine suppliers commonly refer to this material as SS318, although this is not the official grade name.
2205 Duplex Stainless Steel is magnetic, unlike standard 316 stainless steel. This is a normal characteristic of duplex stainless steel and does not indicate inferior quality or reduced corrosion resistance.
2205 Duplex Stainless Steel offers significantly higher strength than traditional 316 stainless steel, making it an excellent choice for demanding anchoring applications.
